History of the Association

In 1963 a slate of officers was elected and in 1964 the first general meeting was held where the name the Nova Scotia Forest Technicians Association was chosen. The association has continued to be the certifying body of forest technicians in the province. Numbers have increased over the years and interest in the program is growing. This association is recognized far beyond the provincial and national boundaries. With a dedicated membership the NSFTA will continue to be the voice of forest technicians, continually growing to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
